I am a Bay Area native thrilled to be living in Berkeley (where I attended college) after being in the South Bay for years. I am passionate about fixing broken systems of care, in using technology as a resource for mental health treatment, and keeping a positive attitude for my patients and their families.
Since completing my medical training at Stanford in 2006 I have been devoted to providing the best care for youth while also addressing systemic failures in mental health treatment.
All families are entitled to the best possible treatment, or “Gold-Standard” for whatever problems they are facing. For almost every diagnosis in mental health, this includes therapy. Unfortunately, our fragmented mental health care system has often pushed physicians into roles where they can only use their prescription pad - and this results in over-medicating patients and poor care, and it is not what I would want for my loved ones. As such, I will always tell families the “correct” treatment path for their mental health issues, and this has been the mission of BCS since it began 20 years ago.
